Crooked Stave Sabro Exploratory Double IPA.
Crooked Stave makes some amazing beers. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. But it'll do.

Crooked Stave Sabro Exploratory Double IPA. Crooked Stave makes some amazing beers. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. But it'll do. Yes they make some killer beers. Not a fan of the sabro hops maybe? I think sabro is hit or miss. I had a Bubble Stash IPA from hop valley. I really like it, mosaic cryo hops. Mmmmm.

There's just something off about flavor balance here to me. Mostly I love Crooked Stave for their Saisons, though.

Italy with dinner then France out on the deck with the sunset. A dusty bottle of Chianti then a snifter or two of Cognac. Back when I lived in rural Kentucky it would be unloading pistols at the sky at midnight........ but here in the metro that's frowned upon.

How did we go almost a month without opening the Friday bar? I guess no one knows what day of the week it is anymore?

This was from last night but deserved a repeat. Another heavily hopped lager at 5.8% ABV (almost an IPA in taste):

Yes it was Friday again...drinking beer again, in Lee Ving after an all day hike and fishing outing. Hazy Little thing, followed by Indian Wells Orange Blossom Amber.

Free State Brewery (Lawrence, KS) "Ad Astra" Amber Ale, which is actually a German Alt, but since people don't know what that is, they call it an amber ale.
It's actually the only beer they brew that I like--deliciously malty. Not really a summer beer, but the beer fridge is getting a little low right now.

I had a bit of Famous Grouse tonight. It's not bad for blended Scotch.
