Shot this (downsized here for web use) 6600 x 6000 pixel 3 column 1 row focus stack and stitch blended image, last Wednesday morning while on a 5 day backpacking trip into to the John Muir Wilderness in the Rock Creek basin. This is a scene from Dade Lake at ~11550 feet with Treasure Peak at frame left and Mt Starr further right of Mono Pass. No name peaks between are over 13k. This was a difficult off trail destination to reach and was camped for a night back some from the far shore. As is the case with many such alpine lakes, the period of calm allowing such bilateral mirror reflections was brief that I'd been keeping my eye on all morning while working subjects elsewhere in the area. The below (downsized here for web use) 6000 x 4000 pixel single frame focus stack blended image was shot on July 24 during a 6 day backpack up Convict Creek. The flowery turf meadow shows mostly Pierson's paintbrush and little elephants head that I nicely visited to witness peak flowering. Also shot an impressive reflection from the tarn at frame right towards the impressive talus slope and peak opposite this direction. The peak in the background left is Mt Morrison that one sees from behind popular Convict Lake.
