I am unsure if there is a trail intersection at these coordinates: 43.45,-74.5668 CalTopo and USGS show that there is an intersection there. However, neither Trails Illustrated nor the Northville-Placid Trail interactive map show it, In English: I'm hiking from Poplar Point Campground to the T-Lake Lean-to. From there, I'd like to cut over to the Northville-Placid trail at the very North end of Piseco Lake without having to return to the campground. I'm just checking to make sure there's actually a cutoff trail there.

I have a different map I can consult, if you don't get a direct answer. I'll wait a day or so.

Hmmmm. Interesting. About half the maps I consult show the trail, the others don't. I see that the eastern end of that connector trail passes through private property. I wonder if it has been posted? Or maybe it's just an unmaintained herdpath instead of an official trail? The best description I found was actually on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T_Lake_FallsAre you going all the way to the falls? I haven't been but I've heard they're impressive. Tallest in New York State. ETA: From a local hotel (Irondequoit Inn) website. This trailhead (Haskell Rd) is where you hope to end up. Emphasis is mine: 6. Mill Stream Trail 1.6 miles round trip; This scenic trail overlooks Mill Stream and offers a variety of swimming and fishing opportunities. The path will take you upstream past two sets of rocks that are nice for picnicking and sliding and farther up to a rock formation in the stream known as the Roman Baths - a great place to cool your feet. The trail peters out after about 0.8 miles where the stream bends sharply to the left.
Directions (0.3 miles from the Inn): Walk right from the Inn parking lot on Old Piseco Road until you cross the Mill Stream bridge at the bottom of the hill. At the intersection with Haskell Road turn left into the field on the corner. The trail leads into the woods out of the far corner of the field.

Hah, I knew WWBF would answer, hence my hesitancy. Good stuff.

Reprise: There is indeed a trail there, or at least a reasonably well marked intersection. I opted to go back to the car and skip the Piseco road walk by driving to the trailhead on Route 8. By the way, there is no longer a Poplar Point Campground. It is now a boat launch but one of our group gave their portapotty 4.5 stars. We did go all the way to T-Lake Falls. The trail was very much overgrown and not well-maintained. It dumps you out at the top of the falls. It's great, but you don't really get to see the waterfall itself.
