Welcome from Oregon. We're glad to have you here. Thanks of all your contributions so far! Thanks. My son lives in Portland, as he just graduated from Univ. of Portland (virtually). My wife and I are both sad we couldn't come up to watch him graduate in person - all virtual. Degree still counts, though!

Greetings from Round Valley! Pine Creek is my "home" trailhead with Mosquito Flat my most visited TH. (Hiking from Pine Creek tomorrow.) Where are you originally from or are you a long time resident? Me...32 years in Round Valley...originally from SoCal. Lived in Yosemite briefly.
A bit toasty here today, eh?

Toasty or pizza-y? Bishop may be the only place I’ve had the sun actually hurt as I crossed the street downtown. And I spent countless weekends in the Anzo Borrego Desert. (Still, Spellbinders was worth it).
Now: waves from SE Pennsylvania.

Both kids grew up through Round Valley school - served on the board there eight years, too. I moved a *lot* growing up, as Dad was in the Marine Corps - Japan, Tennessee, California, North Carolina. Went to college in San Francisco, got married in 93, moved to Tehachapi in 94, moved to Bishop in 99. My wife grew up in Ridgecrest, and made me promise when we got married we wouldn't live more than a day's drive from her parents who lived in Ridgecrest at the time... And yes, it's a scorcher today. Whew.

Now: waves from SE Pennsylvania. It is definitely hot today. My daughter is actually working at Spellbinder over the Summer, and I was in today, picking up a copy of "Miracle Country" by Kendra Atleework. Ms. Atleework's mom used to go to our church, and worked at the Mono County Office of Education, where I also work. It's a pretty good memoir of growing up in the Eastern Sierra, if anyone is interested... My sister lived in Philadelphia and worked as a stage manager for a theatre company there. My daughter is following in her footsteps it seems, as she will be a junior at a nearby college (Swarthmore College, just south of Philadelphia) this fall, although for now she'll be attending online. I don't know if the town of Swarthmore counts as SE Pennsylvania, but it can't be *that* far away... Thanks for being so welcoming, all!

Yes I’d say it’s “SE”, I’ve worked with people who graduated from there (UPENN Med school lab) it’s a great school.
The virtual thing is so unfortunate, campus experience is a special time.
I’ll keep my eye out for that book next time I’m out that way; thanks!
