Hey all, Happy to have found this forum and even happier to see how active you all are on it! Joining having just arrived in Minnesota after living and hiking in New England for the past several years. I'm in search of some 3-7 day backpacking locations around the central midwest. Looking to make the trip towards the second half of april, and the upper midwest is likely to be a bit chilly and muddy yet. Any thoughts? Thanks much!

I'm just hoping we can travel by the end of April.
I'm a retired electrician. Is your Sparky a career reference?

What bradmacmt said. Ozark trail. Look it up as there is a lot of literature out there such as the Ozark Trail Club. On facebook check out the group Missouri Trails.
Also, after Minnasota's ice out you'd like the Superior Hiking Trail north of Duluth, the Border Route Trail on the Canada border in MN and, for real remote, the Kek in the NE corner of MN (these last two are in the BWCA). Also, northern Wisc and Mich have a lot of trails such as the Ice Age and North Country Trails. Obviously, I live in MO, but for years, have headed north in the late spring, summer and fall to walk and canoe.
