Quite remarkable. They’re leveraging the racing simulator technology the teams have been developing for training (as a cost restraint measure real on track training has been restricted for some years).
So Fox Sports 1 is broadcasting a virtual race (iRacing) of a mix of the various NASCAR series drivers on a virtual simulation of Homestead raceway where they’ve held their championship race up until this year.
For those looking for a competition respite from current events it’s an option versus reruns of old football or soccer games.

So they're broadcasting a simulation of a bunch of cars driving around in a big circle. Sounds fascinating!

Shrug.
Enjoying a skills competition of whatever sort is about as hyoh as it gets I suppose.
The level of simulation technology today is remarkable to a guy who ran ZORK on a DEC PDP-11...

Yeah, I don't like NASCAR either but do indeed HYOH HSF. I've watched some horse racing, not sure when they'll shut that down.
