The NBA just cancelled the rest of their regular season after Utah Jaz Player, reportedly Rudy Gobert, tested positive. President's News Conference didn't do anything to inspire confidence in me. Read that NCAA basketball is still ongoing (so far) but the audience open to only limited family. It may also have to do with liability of the businesses that own the teams and stadiums in case some elderly fans die, .. vs younger students voluntarily playing. Other sports may follow. There’s always yardwork .. Still deciphering tonight’s address, reading economic websites ... should be interesting.

Well, it looks like my plans for spring are pretty much out the window. I was planning to spend about a month in France doing wine speaking gigs in Southern France: the Rhone, Bordeaux, Provence, etc. Looks like those will all be cancelled, or at least postponed until...who knows when. I won't miss the gigs that much, but we had worked it so that our daughter could join us for a week---she lives in Geneva. that's probably not an option. sigh. Nice kid, too. It would have been lovely to see her.

All the other teams he played against are being advised to go into self quarantine now. To say nothing of all those teammembers families and acquaintances, other people each was near. If the virus can get into the elite athlete arena, don’t think anywhere is “safe”.

First 2 confirmed cases in Michigan have just been revealed; fortunately the one closest to my area is someone who self quarantined post trip just b/c she didn't feel well. I'm changing my lazy, retirement sleep-in schedule to get out early in the morning when crowds are less, just to get the basic supplies and things I need, then retreat home away from the crowds.
Other than driving the car just to keep the battery charged, I shouldn't have to be in contact with anyone for at least 2 - 3 weeks. I can even avoid people just by going to my father's to continue cleaning and preparing for sale of the house.
Fortunately I have a good collection of books to read, but unfortunately I could also do a lot of house cleaning.

My state just announced it's first confirmed case yesterday and it is a female adult in my county. To much of the rest of the country, we are flyover country or blast across I-80, but Wyoming thinks it is a bubble. Actually not quite sure if we are in that pool of 50. I can still the community shock of the early 90's when so many sons came home to die of AIDS and related illnesses. They had fled Wyoming in the 70's and 80's. I saw in a local FB page, a woman who posted a conflated alarm about an interstate closure from a wreck to a travel ban to between our county and hers? For me no more 5 mornings a week at the local YMCA. That is too uncontrolled a space. And there goes one-twice a week in yoga class. I am not cancelling my fees and just sent a session check to my yogi to carry her over for 6 weeks I have a tub of small sanitizer bottles and put one of my hiking potty and hygiene kit for when out in public and there is shortage of supplies including towels. And nitrile gloves. BTW auto parts houses and oil field-mining supply stores have a lot of those kind of supplies. Behaviors: I am host and attend public meetings almost every day. I am having to cancel a couple of workshops and Sheridan Green Drinks I had a close friend last night saying I should put off a group hike in Yellowstone in August. That is extreme. I will address it to the group. Our conversation though made me think about our personal behavior and how it may affect the health and welfare of our friends and family when we come in contact with them.

My 95 year old mom has been in an assisted living facility for the past three years. My brother and I visit her on alternate days. We just received notification from the facility that no personal visits will be allowed until further notice. Going to be disappointing for her and she’s at the point that I don’t think she’ll be able to fully comprehend why.

Well, my presentation to the ABA was canceled. No surprise there.
Planning on heading to Puerto Rico next week for spring break. They have a few suspected cases. Still a gametime decision.
I think the NHL is canceling the rest of the season. Maybe my beloved Blues will get to be Stanley Cup champs for a whole additional year! Go Blues!
Ugh.

If someone knows better (please correct me if I'm wrong), we're past the point where we're trying to prevent the virus from spreading. That horse left the barn a long time ago.
We're all going to eventually be exposed to COVID-19. ALL...OF....US. The goal right now is to slow the rate of transmission in order to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed.
Some people are going to get sick, and some of them may die, but making sure that ventilators, etc. are available for people who need them will lower the total number of fatalities.

All one has to do is go see the commercial and private jets from all over the USA (and the world) stacked up like cord wood at the JAC airport to know Wyoming is no bubble. Ditto Bozeman.

Last week my 76 year old mother fell and broke her collarbone, so I had to travel to her city and take her to doctor appointments.......those appointments - at a large, crowded health clinic - could not have come at a worse time. I'm counting the days, thankful for each one she doesn't have symptoms. And until I launch my iPad app, my wife and I are both 100% dependent on jobs that interface directly with the public. Both could dry up overnight. So...no...other than the 2 days I spent shopping to stock up my mother, no significant change. But in a couple ways, it could possibly be a gravely serious problem.
