2 people have been killed trying to reach the bus, and many more than just these five have been injured or had to be rescued. Seems like the Denali Borough is thinking of moving the bus to make it "safer" to get to by putting it on the East side of the Talkeetna River. So my theory of human financial greed is confirmed... It is a tourist draw. A little ghoulish perhaps, .. not sure I’d visit at Halloween, but $ome would.

This surprised me since its a fairly quick snow machine trip or day-long cross-country ski trip (37 miles round trip) compared to long and tough summer hiking. The area is black spruce/Alaskan birch so easy access to enough wood for a warming fire.
Typically hikers drown in the summer trying to cross the glacial river (Teklanika River). The most recent was a women from Belarus who drowned last July trying to cross the river. The Denali borough has a vote in March to move the bus to the other side of the river so drownings would no longer occur.
