I did a quick trip to North Fork Mountain, West Virginia, yesterday. I wanted to try out a new remote shutter release, which allows me to trigger the camera from up to 70m away. North Fork Mountain has vast sweeping vistas that allow me to take 'selfies' (or my version of them) from much further away than I was able to manage in the past.
It was a glorious day, although a chilly 14°F when I left the trailhead at 5:30am. I was able to get to my viewpoint at 6:55am, so 5-10min before sunrise, which was exactly what I'd hoped for. Getting up at 1:45am had been absolutely worth it!
One final note before the photos: when I finished the hike the temperature was 51°F!

I'd wanted to take this 'selfie' for quite some time now. I'm about a 3min scramble away from the camera here, which is well outside the range of the 10sec timer and line-of-sight remote I'd used previously. With my new 70m non line-of-sight remote I was able to finally get the shot under my belt.
