From High Sierra Topix. Sounds hopeful.
"He has a treatable form of Leukemia. It'll require about 1 month of intensive chemotherapy, followed by being sick as a dog for another month. He'll then be released to go home to Mammoth and will only be required to go back for periodic treatments. They're estimating there's about a 75% chance of the cancer going into permanent remission."

I'm not sure, autumnmist , I don't know anything beyond the post. It wouldn't surprise me if he has to stay in the hospital, as his immune system will likely be completely wiped out.
