I revised my contrarian coffee ☕️ to include a bit of a product from Tennessee! After dinner on the trail I imagine myself at an upscale restaurant slowly sipping and enjoying a fine after dinner drink. I mix a packet of Bustelo Expresso and a Land O' Lakes Cocoa in a 12 oz. cup of hot/boiling water. After carefully stirring to satisfaction, I had 3 (three)... sometimes 4 (four) tablespoons of Jack Daniel's Tennesse Whisky. A definite Goldilocks beverage that is slowly imbibed and enjoyed. A nightly King of the World moment! My Beverage Inventory with maple syrup packets and Kar's Trail Mix.

No caffeine right before bed, even tempered by Jack Daniels. I occasionally carry an adult beverage to sip in the evening, but usually it doesn't make the cut when I start weighing my pack.

At home, I have two or three coffees in the morning and then one in the afternoon. Stopping for afternoon coffee is not always practical if we're still hiking fast to get to the designated site. So, I've recently been drinking a hydration tablet that includes caffeine. It seems to keep me from having the afternoon energy drop, plus I feel more hydrated. It isn't a real substitute, but it's an okay mitigation.
Of course, in the morning before hitting the trail I always make a large coffee to cover the 2-3 that I usually have. That is a sacred part of the morning ritual. Haven't settled on a specific coffee; gotta try the Waka brand, as recommended.

Via must be pretty good as so many of you drink it. It is if you like drinking coffee grounds.

There's nothing more waking up with a coffee after trail.
