If they have something in stock you want in your size, might be a good time to buy.
edit: Black Diamond is having a similar sale.
edit2: just saw they have quite a few trekking poles on sale.

Yah, I stocked up on some baselayers. They don't use designations like 2 and 3 anymore, so I had to sorta guess on the weights.

Yes, I was used to the 2,3,4 designations. More confusing now. Last sale I bought some "thermal weight" bottoms that I figured was equal to the 4. Could see my hand though it and returned it. Give us R values please!
Really had to hold back on one set of trekking poles; alpine carbon corks.

They told me that midweight is like cap 2/3. I'll find out when they get here.

They told me that midweight is like cap 2/3. I'll find out when they get here. Judging solely by feel the midweight seems to be pretty close to cap 3, but it's kinda hard to compare the new ones by feel or weight because they're made of different materials. In increasing warmth: Midweight - 5.1-oz (147-g) 100% recycled polyester diamond-grid double knit Thermal - 3.8-oz (129-g) Polartec® Power Grid® 92% recycled polyester/8% spandex Air - 5.6-oz (190-g) 51% merino wool/49% recycled polyester seamless box-stitch knit comprised of 18.5-micron-gauge lofted wool Call me an old coot, but I preferred the old 2/3/4 system. I used the 2s and 3s a lot. They were easy to compare since they were made of the same material.

Thanks for the heads up Johntp. I grabbed our kids some new snow jackets for next year at 50% off. I agree with reuben about the old # system. I've had all my old capilene base layers for 15 years and they are starting to need to be replaced. I can't seem to find anything that fits or performs the same, looking through the new stuff.

Got an email advert for men's underwear from Patagonia. "Comfort in a nutshell". Nut. Shell. LMAO.

Got a Capilene light grey baselayer for the year, along with some running shorts that’ll be pressed into hiking. All polyester so they can be recycled by the company when they get too many holes.

Did anyone else order multiple items, only to have 1 or 2 show up, and the rest of the items marked as "order canceled" without any notice?

Not I. Sounds odd. I'd give them a call or send an email.

How do you like your Micro Puff Hoody, bradmacmt? I have two and they’ve been excellent. I really like them. Super light and they’ve been fine for the rainy climate I live in. Glad I got the hooded version of the jacket.
Regards,
DR

FamilySherpa What was the outcome of your canceled order? Did you contact the company?

FamilySherpa What was the outcome of your canceled order? Did you contact the company? We called to ask why it had been canceled and they stated that there wasn't enough of the product in stock to fulfill all the orders that had been placed, so those orders were cancelled internally. They apologized for the lack of notification, but blamed it on a quirky computer issue, rather than internal process. edit: that being said, I've since had a customer service experience where they went well above and beyond normal expectations to satisfy a concern I had with another item.
