The Hocking Hills: a primordial place of huge recess caves, balletic waterfalls and claustrophobic gorges, choked with the tallest hemlocks in Ohio. Due to a warm spell fog swirled about the caves and hung in the gorges, emanating from the melting snow, creeks and waterfalls.

The only time I went there, I was enthralled the entire hike through. Every angle was just a photo waiting to be taken. My brother lives a few miles from there in Logan.

I would literally have NEVER guessed that that place was in Ohio. (The fact that I grew up in Michigan may have something to do with that particular blind spot.)

Hocking Hills return (March 8, 2020)

Yesterday, while driving from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati I did a quick 4hr stop in Hocking Hills, this time to visit the spectacular Rock House and the impressive Cantwell Cliffs.

I'm in awe, of the beauty, grandeur, raw power, and majesty, especially reflected in the first photo, which reminds me of the impressiveness of the Egyptian pyramids, silent and imposing.
