The Heritage Chapter of the North Country Trail is having our annual meeting in February and I'm wondering what motivates you to come build trail. We have trail building weekends every month from May through Nov. We are trailbuilding in a spectacular area: Copper Falls State Park in Wisconsin. We offer free Camping with the chapter at Copper Falls State Park, although you must have a state park pass on your vehicle. Plus we offer free meals at our campsite for Sat. Breakfast and Supper, and Sunday Breakfast.
Again, we will be setting the work weekend dates in February. The only one that is confirmed right now is the June 25 & 26, because the Milwaukee County Sierra Club is attending. We have tentatively scheduled a backpacking trip on the NCT is Wisconsin for Sept 10 to 24.
We have plenty of trail building to do, so the more people attending the better. Please give me some ideas on any other things we can do to get people to attend.
Thank you, Todd

Todd,
You might try contacting the Ozark Trail Association and speaking with Steve Coates or Greg Echele. They have had tremendous success in attracting huge groups of volunteers for trail-building events. I have participated in 6 of them over the years, though I live now in Chicago. The OTA has the benefit of being able to draw upon the St. Louis metro area, but they have also done a great job in getting support from REI and other corporate supporters.
