I need help finding good easy trails in and around Albuquerque. Here’s my plan(s): American Holistic Nurses Assn conference is in ABQ June 2020. I’m going to apply to lead a group of nurses to a close by natural area in or near Albuquerque for a nature walk and immersion, observation and reflection with writing or art. So close, natural, easy walking.
I’m also going to apply to lead a “hike” for those who want to do more than walk. So I need a nice trail for June weather, maybe within a 30 min drive to the trailhead. Maybe 2-4hr Hike.
I’m also thinking about doing a “pre-conference” camping opportunity at Cedro Peak Group Campground. It looks like it’s not too far from Albuquerque, within an hour drive. So I’m just wanting advice and feedback.
Thanks!!!

I'll check with my ABQ friend to see what she says.

Thanks Zeke. I saw the Rio Grande Nature Center and thought that might be a good place for the first nature walk I described.

June will be hot, so why not drive up to Sandia Peak? You could hike a 4.7 miles loop over the 10K trail and Ellis Trail. There are other possibilities that you can check out on this map

Excellent, null!!! Thank you! I’m sorry it took me so long to respond. I’d much rather be up in the mountains anyways. My spirit lives mountains. I’m thinking of an overnight at Cedro Peak and some hiking from there with my fellow nature-loving nurses. I think that will be awesome if I can get the site reserved. Any thoughts about that?

I’m thinking of an overnight at Cedro Peak Sadly, I've never been there so I have no valuable input.
