......counted five fingers on each hand and didn't smell any burnt hair. It's going to be a good day. :D

That's grand. The fools across the street likely lost a finger or two.

Wrap it up in a clean sock and keep that BAC pumped up above a .018 until the festivities are over. That should hold until one can get the proper medical attention in the morning.

......counted five fingers on each hand and didn't smell any burnt hair. That's pretty funny coming from someone with a 4 fingered avatar that can only hold up 3.

Took hours for the smoke to clear around here, woke up in the wee hours and still couldn't open the windows, cough.

It was fairly quiet around here last night. I think the big fires of a couple of years ago are still fresh in most peoples minds.

Neighbors on the hill across the way were setting off fire crackers, mostly. I heard maybe 2 instances of bottle rockets. 2 years ago someone was setting off fireworks and managed to start a forest fire which spread to a house and burned it down. Most people up here are pretty conscientious of fire starting items.
Both Ed and I woke up in the middle of the night smelling smoke. Talk about a rude awakening. But I think it was only someone nearby having a small campfire.

Public fireworks displays are dwindling here as municipal budgets shrink. The gap is being filled with ever-growing private (illegal) shows. I'm surprised by how far people are willing to take it. It's almost to the point where someone should suggest donating to the money to the township and having it done professionally (and safely), since they're using fireworks of that almost quantity and quality.

Activity seemed more than usual here, but we're not under any kind of burn warnings. We heard stuff in the distance well after midnight. Some good sized stuff making flashes across the skies to the north of us. It's been a while since I've played with the big stuff. That's just asking for trouble on the local level. Best to watch the pros or enjoy the local flavor.....from a distance.

At least the pros usually have insurance and medical help standing by.

We had surrounding city displays and locals lighting up whatever. Until past 1 a.m. Our poor dog was a mess.

Or maybe the Gene Pool Filter just doing its thing Seems harsh but I wonder if modern medicine is interfering with the Darwin Effect, I'll sing a different tune when/if it's my turn. I don't think I'll be launching fire works off of my head or playing Russian Roulette though.
