I just found out about the 11 mile trail between Crested Butte and Aspen. A few questions: Is camping permitted anywhere along the route? Is there a trail Southbound from Schofield Pass that continues on? How about a trail that continues Northbound from Aspen? How about a trail Westbound towards Grand Junction? Is this area considered the Maroon Bells since it goes over West Maroon pass? Any general (and specific) info welcome.

When are you going? That will make a big difference, especially this year. I live in Gunnison south of Crested Butte, and we had tons of snow this year. Presently, I can hike up to about 10,000 feet without too much snow. I'm guessing Schofield Pass will open in 2-3 weeks, but expect bad roads. And, check out to see if the shuttle to your trailhead is operating this year, and when.
There is a trail between Schofield Pass and Gothic, but expect that one to be saturated with mountain bikers. And, yes, this hike is in the Maroon Bells/Snowmass Wilderness. It is a beautiful hike, but steep, and with lots of people. From the Schofield Park Trailhead, I found a lot of nearby hikes to be as pretty, but with fewer hikers. Things like Haisley Pass and that area between the West Maroon Pass Trail and Marble.

Summer 2020, so I was hoping to get a nice weeklong route that encompasses the CB -> Aspen trek.

I'm gonna do that Four Pass loop someday. Been wanting to since I spent a summer in Crested Butte in 1981. Had it on the calendar in 2014 but had to cancel when my aging father took a turn for the worse. I've waited so long the place has become a rave, and the crowds have ruined the bears (canisters now required). Still gonna do it, probably 2020.
