Lovely! I see the familiar white trillium in the fifth photo; are the other whites different varieties of trilliums? The pinks are so delicate.

... are the other whites different varieties of trilliums? I think so, although I don't know for sure. There were numerous varieties of trilliums; hundreds, if not thousands of them covered a small half-mile stretch of hillside, in Pittsburgh's Fox Chapel neighborhood. They've cordoned off the area with fencing to keep the deer from eating the flowers. I didn't see any purple trilliums this time, which are pretty cool, but the pink ones were numerous.

I've always been fascinated by the language of flowers. Some like Trilliums, are quiet, but stately and soothing. Others are more flamboyant. Notwithstanding Language of Flowers interpretations, they truly do have their own realm of communication.

GaliWalker , trilliums on my mind prompted me to check my own beds. To my delight, my white trilliums have spread to more than 60 plants ready to bloom, as well as a few travelers that moved West about 25 - 30 feet and started their own new colony. And, my burgundy trillium was in bloom, with 12 lovely deep burgundy flowers. If the local rabbits don't dine on them before I can get fencing out, I'll try to get some pictures with my new camera that I'm still learning how to use. There's so much peace in a bed of trilliums. I forgot to mention the lovely violet bell flowers; are they mertensia?

Enjoy your trilliums! I forgot to mention the lovely violet bell flowers; are they mertensia? They are Virginia Bluebells.
