It's funny, but also to weep. I mean, a *science teacher* with that little idea of how the world works? Solar panels use up all the sunlight so the plants can't photosynthesize? You'll find me in the back room crying, along with my science-prof husband.

Since the introduction of Daylight Saving Time my curtains have faded and that is a fact.

"She also questioned the high number of cancer deaths in the area, saying no one could tell her that solar panels didn’t cause cancer." Well.... she's kind of right. Excessive exposure to sunlight does cause cancer....

Looks to me like she just wanted to preserve her property value and was willing to con the locals to get them to vote her way. When it comes to small-town zoning, particularly going from residential to manufacturing, the profiteers need to pony up. Building something good (solar power) does not give the profiteers a pass to bulldoze the property owners impacted. Here's a deeper read.

Thanks ATVtuner. There's way more to that story. Yeah, the retired science teacher is an idiot---but surrounding the local substation with four solar farms could certainly create some issues locally that have nothing to do with photosynthesis...

People say the most ignorant things when they can't find a legitimate reason. It is funny in an ironic way that a former science teacher would stand up publicly and spout ignorant things like that. It's also sad.

Building something good (solar power) does not give the profiteers a pass to bulldoze the property owners impacted. What a very libertarian concept.
