First, here is a good overview of the John Muir Trail (JMT)

It is set up for a sobo hike starting in Happy Isle in Yosemite Valley and finishing at Mt Whitney. The pictures are excellent and by going through the segments of the JMT you will have a pretty compact visual tour of the trail. My JMT was a nobo hike and I went through these segments in reverse order.

The trail name MiniBear came between the Woods Creek suspension bridge and Pinchot Pass at a camp site big enough, as it turned out, for 4 people.
