I found a really tasty addition to put in my meals, mainly dinner dishes. I like to add some Fresh Gourmet Crispy Jalapenos. They add some kick and crisp, really really tasty! Fresh Gourmet has a bunch of other stuff similar, usually found in the salad section of the grocery. Tortilla Strips, Wanton Strips, different flavored Crispy Onions, etc. There are of course other brands that have similar offerings. Anyway, I mention these just in case you have never noticed. Crispy sounds tasty, jalpenos sound painful. I’ll check for other, safer possibilities when I get the chance.

Sounds like it could be a nice addition to the old Idahoan standard mashed potatoes. Sometimes I add dried veggies and gravy powder to them to rehydrate, but these on top would add to texture and taste.
Thanks!

I’ll check for other, safer possibilities They are like salad toppers. Crispy onions in a couple different flavors, beets, garlic, tortilla strips, wanton strips, etc. None of it is substantial, just added flavor and texture (crunch). The Jalapeno stuff piqued my interest. I like a little flavor and they aren't too hot for me. I tested some just out of the bag and did OK, and I am kinda a wimp when it comes to stuff like that. I like Packit Gourmet "Ramen Rescue". Adds veggies to an otherwise forgettable dinner.

If I am doing my math correct the jalapeño crisps are 160 cal/oz. Again if my math is correct a MH FD is only 130 cal/oz. Cheddar cheese is 114 cal/oz.
Not a bad little calorie add.

rebeccad I use French's Fried Onions and also their Fried Jalapenos. 170 cal / ounce. Several newish flavors of the onions. I can use the salt, calories, and crunch.

I eat hemp seeds on most everything. It's allergy safe for our youngest. It might not "replace" almonds and similar, but I love the taste.

Tabasco. No crunch but a nice bit of heat.

I swear I must be the only one here who loves beans on toast more than life I love peanut butter on toast. But, it's hard to imagine beans on toast. Perhaps refried beans would work. How do you make beans on toast?

But, it's hard to imagine beans on toast. Perhaps refried beans would work. How do you make beans on toast? A lot of people don't believe in coincidences so I won't call it that. But, nine hours after querying you about beans-on-toast, I'm watching a movie about the early Beatles called The Beatles: Made on the Merseyside. Eight minutes in and one of the guys being interviewed said that one of the things that George always had for lunch, when he was still living at home was beans-on-toast. Now I figure it was a British thing.
