I have a list I add to every week in Health & Fitness, and trying to get the correct spacing is becoming a pain (spacing does not carry over if I cut/paste from previous week). Anyone know how to create columns, or tabs that aren't dependent on the length of the previous text (ie - not just a set spacing from the previous text)?
Example... make this:
1/13-1/19: 190.8 51 1/20-1/26: 192.6 52 1/27-2/2: 191.8 52 2/3-2/9: 194.4 52 2/10-2/16: 193.2 52 2/17-2/23 194.2 51
Look like this (without needing to add spaces between each):
1/13-1/19: 190.8 51 1/20-1/26: 192.6 52 1/27-2/2: 191.8 52 2/3-2/9: 194.4 52 2/10-2/16: 193.2 52 2/17-2/23 194.2 51

How did you get younger again between 2/16 and 217? By drinking the blood of virgins, of course.

bp2go tigger may be able to help, since they are better at coding. My only answer would be to keep the list on your computer, and take a screen shot of it weekly. Adding that image would be easy, with the button at the bottom of each post.

A spreadsheet within a word doc, or just simply use a spreadsheet? It seems a bit easier than having to space over to keep things aligned.

This looks worse than it should, but I installed the button to create a table. It's the obvious GRID button. YOU define the parameters, and this is what you get. You can experiment with sizes, padding, etc. Use the PREVIEW to see what you're getting. CENTER text by selecting the table and use the CENTER button. 2-25-19 | 456 | 7654 | Row 2 column 1 | Row 2 column 2 | Row 2 column 3 | Row 3 column 1 | Row 3 column 2 | Row 3 column 3 | Row 4 column 1 | Row 4 column 2 | Row 4 column 3 | Row 5 column 1 | Row 5 column 2 | Row 5 column 3 | Row 6 column 1 | Row 6 column 2 | Row 6 column 3 |

Note: I suggest you get a table that you like set up, then as you add days, copy the one you like and paste it for a new day. Editing the input is way easier than editing the code! Good luck.

1/13-1/19: | 190.8 | 51 | 1/20-1/26: | 192.6 | 52 | 1/27-2/2: | 191.8 | 52 | 2/3-2/9: | 194.4 | 52 | 2/10-2/16: | 193.2 | 52 | 2/17-2/23 | 194.2 | 51 |
Under the hood is BBC: [table] [tr] [td]1/13-1/19:[/td] [td]190.8[/td] [td]51[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]1/20-1/26:[/td] [td]192.6[/td] [td]52[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]1/27-2/2:[/td] [td]191.8[/td] [td]52[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]2/3-2/9:[/td] [td]194.4[/td] [td]52[/td] [/tr] [tr][td]2/10-2/16:[/td] [td]193.2[/td] [td]52[/td] [/tr] [tr] [td]2/17-2/23[/td] [td]194.2[/td] [td]51[/td] [/tr] [/table]
The BB code for "table" is here. You don't need linefeeds between each block of tr's. In fact, you could do it much more succinctly than above. ETA: And, of course, bp2go is right: editing the data is a lot easier than editing the code. Back in the day, before the multiple changes to this here forum, I had Microsoft Office and I was well-acquainted with Visual Basic Application (VBA). I could create my patented verbose posts in Word, hit a single key and have them translated into the appropriate BB code because I'd created a VBA macro to do it for me. After all the forum changes, I lost it all. Then I lost the version of MS Office I had, didn't want to buy an "updated" version (they mostly stink - why did MS think changing the interface was a good thing?), and switched to OpenOffice. I'm not doing macros anymore - I don't know Python (or any of the other languages they use for macros in OO) well enough to work with any of the applications. I do have a little MF of a BB code editor for offline use, but it's buggy and doesn't always match up correctly with this forum's version of BB code. That little offline app has buttons for creating tables, however. :^D
