Huh. If you believe some people, wolves have nearly destroyed the viability of ranching as a profitable enterprise in Idaho, along with eating most of its Grandmothers.

I don't think they see a distinction.

A little off topic but had a conversation with a coworker and he told me Wisconsin brought wolves in to control the deer population and it backfired, now the place is overrun with wolves and it was only a matter of time before the wolves started killing people, and the Govt. should start paying people to kill wolves. I tried to tell him Wisconsin wolves most likely repopulated naturally from Minnesota where they had never been completely exterminated (thanks to the ESA). Total waste of time talking to some people.

Total waste of time talking to some people. You have that right. There are too many people with little actual knowledge but awfully strong opinions anyhow.

www.jsonline.com/news/wisconsin/scientists-disagree-with-colleagues-on-gray-wolves-b99622586z1-353194351.htmlA little off topic here as it has nothing to do with Idaho however it is on the wolf topic. "The integrity and effectiveness of the (Endangered Species Act) is undercut if delisting does not happen once science-based recovery has been achieved," they said. "When this happens, it creates disincentives for the states to continue to be active participants in recovery efforts and creates public resentments toward the species" and the law.

"The integrity and effectiveness of the (Endangered Species Act) is undercut if delisting does not happen once science-based recovery has been achieved," Recovery cannot be considered "achieved" if there is no viable, enforceable plan in place to keep wolves from becoming endangered again. As long as token "state plans" are intentionally kept weak and unenforceable, there can be no such thing as science-based recovery.
