We are trying to plan a 6 or 7 day hike in the Canyon Creek area, but I'm wondering if it's possible to hike from Canyon Creek Lakes to Grizzly Lake in case we decide we'd like to go a little further given the number of days we have.
Any insight?

I'm seeing reports of Thompson Peak being climbed from Canyon Creek and from Grizzly Lake, so it should be doable. Reading about crossing the ridges to see different lakes is what drew me to the Trinity Alps and why I want to go back. We got in deep snow just below Grizzly Lake and the waterfall and didn't go higher. When I find where I was reading about that I'll share.
Here's a cool video -

Wow - DOING IT!
I think. You're all going to think I'm being foolish but the cats running around out there are giving me second thoughts.
Also, snow in August? That's cool.

That's freaking awesome. I've had Trinity Alps on my list for awhile, but just started seriously looking at planning a trip for late fall. There seems to be a good bit of traffic, though?

I don't believe so. There are sections of the PCT that gets a lot of traffic, but not so much in the TA. I guess that depends on what you consider to be a lot of traffic.

Naturally, I'd prefer zero! May have built some misconceptions based on YouTube videos from popular dayhikes. I would go as late as possible for temps as low as possible. That always seems to minimize the number of people on the trail, no matter where. Figuring 6-7 days, preferably 70-85 miles, but haven't put anything together yet. Don't even know if I'll be solo or with a buddy, but it'll just be one rental car, either way.
