This week we celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA, and we thought we'd take just a minute to mention some of the things we are grateful for:
Top among those are our apparent good health, and the fact that we have each other and continue to be in love after 38 years of marriage. We wish all of you the same.
We're also enormously grateful for the fact that we live in a place and time that allows us to enjoy the beauty of nature when and where we would like, with wonderful national parks, forests, and wilderness areas. And we should mention the many people who have joined us in our celebration of the wilderness, from those on these backpacking message forums, to those we have taken along on a hike . We thank you all

I'm grateful for mountain lions, wolves, grizzlies, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, lynx, wolverines, and many smaller critters that have entertained me and taught me something about nature. And I'm grateful for the people who wish to preserve those species and preserve the ecosystems in which they dwell. And so much more along the same lines.

I'm grateful for my family, my friends, freedom, a healthy body, the flexibility to enjoy both an income and adventure, experiences that are beyond scope (Arctic Circle Traverse 2016), a positive attitude, and the ability to give back to my community and the world.

I'm grateful for a loving supportive wife and good health.
For all of you who are traveling somewhere this week, I wish you a safe journey.

This year I'm grateful after many years of hard work I finally got a promotion to a job that is right up my alley. I am thankful for my husband who supports me in my career and is excited to be going with me. I am thankful for my parents and sister who are also behind me as we embark on our new adventure. And after we get settled down I am very excited to have many new beautiful and wild forests and parks to explore!

Thankful to be married to a beauty with brains. Thankful for the plenty in my heart and on my plate. Thankful I survived the earlier times.

This Thanksgiving is my husband's 53 birthday and I was there living with him already when he turned 20. We've had such a full life so far, joy and sorrow and a time of travel, family and adventure and boredom and everything that goes into daily life. I'm grateful for a lot of things, but him most of all.

I'm thankful for the spark at the beginning of the current universe which started the chain of events that led to this moment allowing me to say I'm thankful.
I'm thankful for the things that went wrong because they are just as important as the things that went right all allowing me to be here now saying I'm thankful.
I'm hopeful that, at the end of everything, the number of positive moments will be greater than the number of negative moments so that the next universe can start off on a good foot. I'm thankful I am aware and can still contemplate being thankful.

Too many to enumerate, but good health and an awesome family are the first that come to mind. I'm a lucky dude.

I'm thankful for three healthy and talented kids who love each other and their parents. I'm thankful for my wife who has my undying love and respect. I'm thankful for all the good times, 25 years of them, so many trips, every one of them seemingly better than the last. I'm thankful we still have our parents. I'm thankful for our sisters, we each have two, they are all great and everyone is healthy and has beautiful families. I'm thankful I can still get around and do the things I love even after a lifetime of abuse. I'm also thankful for what may just be the best dog in the world.

Family. Everyone is here and it's pretty dang awesome.
And even though my health is dented by a recent accident (I'm in recovery from a surgery on Weds) I expect to make a full recovery, and for that I'm extremely thankful. Could've been so much worse in so many ways.

A lot to be thankful for. But I'd probably go along with those who list good health and family. Maybe especially for my husband who not only puts up with me but makes it possible for me to do what I really want to do (write).

I have so much to be thankful for that it's downright embarrassing. All I need now is a little more time to enjoy it.
