My wife and I spent an extended weekend in Shenandoah National Park during November, 2015. We hiked to the Jones Run Falls and the falls on Doyles River and the South River Falls. We also summited Black Rock Mountain (3,120 ft.). All totaled, be did about 12 miles of trails.

Thanks for posting! The trails from the cabin I use to live in entered the SNP at Blackrock Gap so I have explored all around that beautiful area. And,right down the road from where I lived I would often take The Browns Gap Fire road up to the Skyline Drive and the first two falls you mentioned. And,South River Falls is one of my favorite falls in the park, the key is to avoid the crowds, as due to easy access it is very popular with local area families.

SNP is especially nice when the leaves are down. Looks like you had great weather.

Thanks for the vid. The last time I did the Shenandoah was in early March and started at the southern end to Front Royal, all on the AT although I did a side hitchhike to Luray for a food resupply. Mercifully and Thank You Buddha but the hated Skyline Drive was closed during my trip and so I didn't have to endure the harley roars and the screaming motorcycle howls as Americans are out getting their rolling nature fixes. It's amazing how poorly muffled motorcyclists can ruin a peaceful mountain landscape.
I guess you could say the Shenandoah AT running south to north is very User Friendly due to all the development on the mountains with the road and the shops and visitor centers and restaurants. Best time to hike the Shenandoahs?? January and February, when the motorcyclists don't have the gumption to ride in the cold.

Or ,just avoid the AT and Skyline Drive altogether.I have hiked extensively in the park and almost never accessed a hike from the Skyline drive or hike on the AT.As,there are so many beautiful remote loops with much more elevation change and scenery it really isn't necessary. Also, saves you the entrance fee and rv encounters. My favorite remote access points and loops are like well guarded secrets as one never encounters a sole except perhaps a few fly fishermen on the way to the trailhead....
