Drama - Momie eagle drags baby eagle that was hung up on her talon.
Both parents sit in nest to cover seperated babies.

Anybody saw the squirrel that tried to scamper through the nest? I understand the baby eagles ate him in a few hours. Still not as funny as the cat (2015) that thought it could make a snack out of the eaglett with mama in the nest.

I didn't see that but I did see a dead squirrel in the nest a couple of days ago.

Two juvenile eagles followed Mom back to the nest, yesterday. She ran off one and then dad showed up and tangled with the second one, ultimately running him off. This event happened away from the nest cams.

This morning one of the eaglettes began picking at the fish on its own. The eaglettes re walking around the nest and one even worked on making its own bole to rest in.

Those baby eagletts have grown. They are looking like they will start branching soon.

B6 and B7 are expected to fledge over the next few days. B7 and B7 have been branching and mom/dad have dropped the amount of food being brought to the nest.

I've been keeping my eye on these youngsters. They are indeed all over the place. Often you can only see them on the "approach" cam. I watched one do jumping-jacks in the nest the other day.

My wife and I realized that they learn to land before they learn to fly as part of their branching. Watching several hatches, I often wondered if there was a way to 'see' the eagletts being shown how to fish. I like to watch the Decorah eagle cam. There is an opening commerical then the eagle cam start. The sound is pretty good.
