Pleased to say I'm getting the hang of this, though many other aspects of Flickr also drive me nuts. If PB wasn't slower than molasses in January, to haul out the old cliche (is there such a thing as a new cliche?), I wouldn't want to use Flickr. But it's a pleasure not to have to wait forever for each screen.

The changes to Photobucket mean more people will be using Flickr. Here are hopefully simplified steps for the 2 ways to post photos from Flickr. Method One (directly into your post, in "Create Post" mode, not "reply"): 1. Log into Flickr, go to your Photostream. 2. Click on the photo you want to share. 3. In the bottom right corner of the screen, there is a curved arrow to the right. If you hover your mouse over it, a text box will pop up that says "Share Photo." Click on the arrow. 4. In the resulting pop-up window it will say "Share 1 Photo To" and shows icons for popular sites like Facebook and Pinterest. Above that, tabs list "Share" "Embed" "Email" and "BBCode". Click on the one that says BBCode. 5. When you click on BBCode, select "medium" size. A whole bunch of text shows up in the text area. Copy all that text. 6. Log into this forum and start a post, using "Create Post". Paste the text you copied from Flickr into your post. Your photo won't show up until you hit the Create Post button.
You can type stuff before or after it in your post...
If you don't want the "extra" stuff--name of photo, link to your page, etc., you can edit the BB code down to just the photo link, the part contained between the first set of "bracket URL bracket" and "bracket /url bracket". (Dang, it's hard to do this stuff without actually creating the link!)
Method Two (using the image link box): This is the method DD and others outline above. 1. Log into Flickr, go to your Photostream. 2. Click on the photo you want to share. 3. In the bottom right corner of the screen, there is a down-arrow pointing at a bar. Click on this, and you will see a pop-up showing a range of sizes. Click "view all sizes." 4. Select "Medium" size. 5. Right click on the image. In the dialog box, select "copy image location" 6. Return here, and create a new post, using either "reply" or "create." Click on the "insert image" icon, and paste the image location into the space where it says "Image URL" (be sure to remove the "http" prompt so you don't duplicate that). 7. Image will be visible at once if you are in "create post," or after you post if you have hit "reply."
There you go...clear as mud, right? Once I figured it out, it wasn't hard. But I admit it took several tries (well, no use denying that, since I documented my struggles in this thread.

The above is from FaceBook Click on the photo, it will open at full size, then right click and use copy address. Then insert address into the Insert Image box I have found the other comments about using FaceBook, so I will need to wait and see if they will disappear.

Now, if you follow that link, right-click on the image, and click "copy image location," you can paste it into the image box and actually show the image:

It worked! I just wish it was easier to do from a phone. Hey I was wondering if you could teach me how to post a pic via the phone. I saw on the flicker thread that you figured it out and I am having trouble with it

It worked! I just wish it was easier to do from a phone. Hey I was wondering if you could teach me how to post a pic via the phone. I saw on the flicker thread that you figured it out and I am having trouble with it Here is how I do it.(with an android) First you have to go to the bottom of the bpbasecamp page and click on the "desktop" link. This does two things. It makes the font really small and it shows the Imagebb link to add photos to your post. When you click on the Add Images it will bring up the Imagebb page. The page gives you the option to add photos from the phone's files. Pick the ones you want and click upload. large image hosting

Glad you figured it out kbhiker. I haven't posted a picture in awhile from my phone, so I would have had to read the directions all over again myself.
