My wife and I love the Kind Coconut Pineapple Chia bars, but they are now discontinued and about to run out. Kind is now in business with Mars (M&M's etc...) and maybe it cut into their Mounds supply chain. Anyway, we really like the dern things and if anyone has successfully pressed any kind of bar like this, please point me in a direction, please.

Thanks, John. My local store is not getting anymore, and the Kind site itself says there not making them anymore. I imagine there's some still kicking around in store's inventories. I ordered some, but would like to learn how to make them when they're all gone.

I'd google it - because there are many faux-Kind bar recipes online. You just need a food processer to make it all submit, then press into a parchment paper lined pan. Easy! I hate chia seeds, otherwise I'd make some :D

Thanks to both of you. If I am successful , I'll let you know. I didn't see one on your site, Sarbar, THE place to go for backpack cooking. The only thing I know about chia is you can make pets out of it. I taste pineapple and coconut, other grains would do, I'm sure.

So I was thinking last night, this recipe is one I love (it's one of my sites). It is a good base recipe, you can swap in other nuts or seeds. Use dried pineapple for the 1/2 cup dried fruit. Instead of oats, use natural coconut. Add in chia seeds as part of the nut/seed ratio.
