I did a search today but couldn't find current snow conditions in the San Juan Mounts, Colo.
I am planning 8-9 days from July 15 ff- starting out of Eddiesville TH planning a nice loop at an easy pace.
Where can I find snow conditions?
And, the picture at the top showing Columbine Lake- is that on the JMT? Sure looks familiar.

It's hot and dry here and the snow is disappearing amazingly quickly. You won't have a problem.

Good information. I will certainly miss the trail crew as we'll be heading for the Wheeler Geo area first and then a nigh or 2 at Machin Lake at the foot of La Garita Peak.
I need to look up the approach to that peak. Looks interesting.
I appreciate the info everyone.

It's nice there RD. Did a winter ski tour and ascent of Unnamed 13,895' just down the ridge. Have fun and don't forget a trip report with pictures.

My front porch faces the San Juans. It was 98 degrees here today. I wouldn't worry about too much snow.

If I'm looking at it right (TH is near Crede and the CT?) I was there last week. Virtually no snow. Wasnt until we got further south near Stony Pass that there was inconvenient snow but it must be gone by now.

Just got back from a week in the Dillon area an hour west of Denver yesterday (7/6). Snow is not a poblem. Fires are getting active.

I need to look up the approach to that peak. Looks interesting. When I did that one several years ago, I approached from Stewart Creek. I camped around 12K and when I summited the next morning I only saw one other person on the mountain. I did Wheeler on another trip. That sounds like a great itinerary you have planned. I just talked to a friend who spent last weekend in the Collegiate Peaks, and she had no issues with snow.
