The creator of some of my favorite music......
So, the Ramblin man, found the one way out...finally went through that door......and no longer has a Cross to Bear....
His music will live on forever...
.Frankly, who would have thought he and Keith Richards would have made it this long? Lots of hard living....substance abuse...alcoholism, Hep-C....a liver tranplant....finally passed from Liver cancer......
My two favorites, which he didn't write, are Not my Cross to bear......and Stormy Monday.....
Another great talent, a legend....gone....Rest in Peace Midnight Rider....

The creator of some of my favorite music...... Mine too. He outlived his brother by more than 45 years, but still died too young. RIP, Greg. If heaven exists and he's there, is he singing I'm No Angel?

One tends to remember those famous people who are your same age or with same birth date. ABB at FW before most on this board were born before any had been lost to eternity.

snippets:
They often played six sets a night, seven nights a week, and eventually moved to Los Angeles – Gregg having shot himself in the foot to avoid the draft – where they recorded two forgettable albums for Liberty Records as the Hour Glass.
"This is the hardest thing I've had to do in a long, long, time," Allman said in a statement after calling off his winter tour. "I've been on the road for 45 years because I live to play music with my friends for my fans. As much as I hate it, it's time for me to take some real time off to heal...
A cause of death was not immediately revealed, but Allman suffered from chronic liver issues in recent years...
An admitted hardcore alcoholic throughout the Eighties and most of the Nineties...
In 2007, Allman was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, which he attributed to a dirty tattoo needle, and he received a liver transplant. He also suffered from an atrial fibrillation and eventually switched to a gluten-free vegan diet...

There aren't enough of the original members left. What a great band it was.

Never cared much for their music. But each to his own.
