Here's a song from the past that for whatever reason came to my consciousness today. I mean I hadn't heard or thought of this song for a really long time but there it was, just thinking about it. So I am going to share it here and maybe it will reawaken something in you as well. Or maybe this will be the first time you listen to it. Anyway ...

He had a good run before he went off the deep end. Fortunately, he seems to have moderated.

First new Rolling Stones album single in almost 2 decades. Pretty good in the latter Stones fashion .. really good video with some obvious age-defying CGi (on the remaining Stones part .. not the model’s .. lol) Entire new album announced in England called Hackney Diamonds (London slang referring to broken window glass outside a robbery), including 2 songs recorded before original Charlie Watts death. www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-66720789Add that there’s some guest musicians sprinkled on some tracks according to other sources, like Paul McCartney(bass), Elton John (piano), Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, and original bassist Wyman

Here ya go @ruebenstump ... Speaking of the Secret Policeman's Ball, I remember buying a couple of the albums as they evolved each year. Yes, albums. Back in the day. There were lots of great performances. Sting's solo version of Roxanne is worth listening to. And to a lesser extent, Phil Collins' version of In the Air Tonight

That whole southern/roots/rock/country/gospel genre is seriously good stuff. The exuberance and inventiveness of youth drawing from so many great sources is almost sure to mine some gems. Thanks for posting that.

Speaking of rock: Here’s some good footage from .. KISS playing live in a studio. Know their standard hits but getting some good video on their playing the classics with some backstory on each song:
A little intro before Detroit Rock City..
Paul Stanley (most lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Gene Simmons (bass) are the only consistent members of the 4 piece band.
Shout It Out Loud:
They do get a bad rap for over-merchandising but in terms of personnel changes, read where the other 2 original members were let go due to legit problems.

Circa 1975 four of us went to the Aragon Ballroom concert venue on Chicago's north side to see T-Rex, which was the 3rd of 4 bands. Started out with Hydra, then UFO. Marc Bolan of T-Rex put on quite a show. We were pretty buzzed from that and the recreational substance we indulged.
Never heard of the next band, had no idea what to expect. They came on stage with crazy costumes, pyrotechnics, and were probably the loudest band we ever heard. We were blown away. One of my friends bought their studio album the next day, but upon listening we really didn't like it all that much compared to the live show that was unexpectedly sprung upon us.
That was my experience with Kiss.

The other day, my wife made a comment that brought this song to mind. The brain is a funny thing.
