Welcome. As a new member, you probably have a question right off the bat, that's what led you to find the forum.
Well, while you might have a question to ask, please take a few minutes to do two things:
Now you can go on to the Home page and read the Categories and the Boards they contain. This will help you decide just exactly where you should post your question. Looking for trail info? Find the right place in Destinations. Want to ask about gear? The Gear Closet. Etc.
SPECIAL NOTE No.1: Many people join to ask for a specific bit of help, then other members post replies, but the original author never returns to get the help they asked for! If you might forget where or when you post a one-time question, go to your Profile, see Notifications and see that you can set up to get an EMAIL when a thread you have participated in is updated! You get a link to click and come see your replies. Of course you are encouraged to make a BOOKMARK for the site. It's an awkward domain to just remember!
Special Note No.2: If you are a fan of Smilies (emoticons, emojis) do NOT just tap in the usual keystrokes and expect a happy face! Use the smiley-face menu in the text area to select the image you want. When "somebody" was adding new images, "they" were not adding the images to the keystrokes you expect Again, read the tips offered, learn to preview and edit your messages.
And be sure to hit the Trailhead Register (the TR) to post a Hello so we can officially welcome you. Be prepared for some odd questions about food and drink.
Of course you may want to ask some questions about the forum! You can post a question in the TR, or drop me a PM. You'll get help in short order.

Well, while you might have a question to ask, please take a few minutes to do two things:
• First, just scan down the list in the "Learn" section to see many helpful tips on how to use the forum features: how to set up your Profile, create a post, reply to a post, etc., and how to recognize a new PM.
NOTE: Spam will be promptly deleted, and the accounts of spammers will be removed. This includes any form of advertising, including Kickstarter posts. If you have questions, this post in the Gear Closet will help you understand our rules.
