foxalo , beautifully framed photos. I especially like the top photo with the color demarcations. The deep blue of the lake is especially stunning, as are the reflections in the second photo. They'e both evocative of serenity, each in a different way.
Sleeping Bag Man! , aw shucks! I think you just want some praise, and you're entitled to it! The extensive detail of the trees, the soft "fuzziness" of the branches against the vast stretches of sky and clouds in the background creates a beautiful contrast.
Same contrast and blends highlight the Zion photos - and also convey the sense of massive solidity.
These photos of mountains that are posted are so stunning - beautiful, quiet, yet dramatic.
reuben, your photo of Yellowstone is an interesting blend of colors. Forgive me, but I can't help but think of a delicious chocolate brownie when I look at the upper portion above the river!

reuben : oops! I see that easily now - guess I shouldn't be posting when it's past my bedtime. I honestly don't know why I concluded it was a river unless I was thinking it was a superheated, mineral laden watery area. Love the photo of the Upper Yosemite Falls; the mist of the water is so dramatic, so evocative of force and power, yet also so very delicate.

autumnmist , it's a detail of one of the geothermal features, so it is, in fact, "a superheated, mineral laden watery area". One of the main ideas behind that image is that it's abstract with no obvious sense of scale. It's all up to the viewer to decide what it is and how big it is.
