Anyone here ever camp at a federal wildlife refuge? Got any favorites that actually allow camping on the Refuge? Thx!

Malheur is day use only, but there are good campgrounds directly adjacent.
...unless you bring a bunch of friends with AR-15s, and beg for snacks on the internet. Then apparently camping is allowed.

Just beyond the National Elk Refuge's boundary above Flat Creek in the Bridger-Teton National Forest is an awesome dispersed campground.

I've stayed at Wichita Mountains more than once. It requires a permit which is to be acquired over the internet.

I've stayed at a campground in the east side of the Ruby Mountains. It was not a great campground, but the wildlife was very cool.
