Many environmental battles were fought (and seemingly lost) over the damming of rivers. It's good to see some of those battles were not lost forever.

Hydro power being included on lists of “clean” energy has raised my eyebrows for decades.

I'm sensing a trend -- and love it.

Thx for sharing, Reuben…! Nice to see another river in the Pacific Northwest getting back to its wild self…

Hiked in the area a few years back and this may be tourist draw.
If one can eat the salmon, maybe fishing is an option?

If only we would do the same in the Atchafalaya Basin, where the Army Corps of Engineers issues permits to violators after the fact. Illegal roads, illegal dams, silt, etc. And it greatly affects the ability of the basin to absorb storm surges from hurricanes, tropical storms, and the like. Not to mention the impact on wildlife (owls, crawfish, shrimp, etc.), and flora.
But that's just another of my personal crusades/rants.
I go there at least once per year. Food, fun, friends, music, and blessed, quiet, beautiful swamp time...
