I'm always looking for a good youtube channel with good content. So do you have a couple of favorites. Below is my new favorite channel that apparently has been around but it showed up as a suggestion the other day and it looks like youtube's algorithm was correct. It's mostly canoe trips in northern Ontario and some winter camping but I like the format of his videos. I also like the fact that they are longer than 7 minutes (do you detect any sarcasm?). www.youtube.com/c/LostLakes

This guy is or use to be a member here. I like his trips in the PNW (ID,MT, WA, OR). He lives in Idaho I believe. Nice backpacking trips to scenic locations and commentaries related to his destinations. He has a cool dog, too... m.youtube.com/@mountainwanderer/videosHappy Trails, DR

Nice backpacking trips to scenic locations and commentaries related to his destinations. Very nice. This is the type of thing I was hoping to see.

Not backpacking, but he travels to the craziest places on Earth. Has a fairly unbalanced view of what it's like, not really trying to a narrative other than it's humans trying to survive. www.youtube.com/@indigotraveller

Not backpacking either, but fascinating. Trenton and Heath do repairs and restorations on all kinds of footwear, from work boots to hand-sewn English dress shoes. I've watched about 20 of them so far. They skip steps in many of the videos, but they skip different steps in each one, so it's easy to pick up what the whole process is. www.youtube.com/@trentonheath

Here's another one, from a DIY guy who did a series on making his own shoes. He started completely from scratch, making his own last. It moves slower than the other one, but it's interesting to see what all the challenges are. His overall channel covers numerous DIY projects, so I started with the first shoe episode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvC_L2uX6Fs

I'm more into the entertainment portion of YT, so The Try Channel is several Irish folks trying different foods and drinks, mostly. Also, Catherine Gregory does some nice hikes, some backpacks, while living out of a camper. For just good laughs, I follow the Travel Beans because they are a funny couple living a life of travel, mostly living out of various vans. They have a van in the UK, one in the US, and rent one elsewhere. they don't do a lot of hiking, but they visit some nice places, ie: Isle Royale, Custer St park, UP (Mich), Tx, and plenty of European places, including some I would like to visit.

I really enjoy Ryan Van Duzer's channel. He is a bikepacker who bikes wilderness trails so he is a kindred spirit. His videos are very well done and he is such a pleasant guide. Link: www.youtube.com/@duzer
