I somehow failed at getting a digital copy of our holiday card, but here's the photo from it. Happy holidays to all my BPer forum friends.

I still send cards. It to me at least is a fun thing to do. When I was a kid I remember my mother sitting down to write cards out. It is a memory of Christmas a long time ago. Greeting cards are fast becoming history though. Another victim of the cyber world we live in. The cost is another factor.

I'm sure how, but I lost track of my hand-printed Christmas Card thread. For the record, here's 2022:

I'm sure how, but I lost track of my hand-printed Christmas Card thread. And here's 2023:
This one is based on some snowy cacti growing from a crack in a cliff face near a ruin in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness (AZ).

We always send them, although not as many as we used to. I always enjoy getting them and hearing from folks who I might not otherwise had contact with through the year. Always enclose a family photo (usually just of the wife, me and the dog) and the dreaded Christmas letter which is short and basic.

I confess to doing the much-maligned Xmas letter, telling of my trips and including photos. And I resist the urge to send them all digitally, because dammit, I like getting real mail.
I also usually get them out sometime between MLK Day and St. Patrick's day.

The above card was last year's. I keep sending them because recipients tell me how much they enjoy getting them and seeing what we have been up to (if they are telling the truth.)

Besides the bulk of letters we send, I've had the habit of including an aspen leaf from Colorado. I can not believe the number of people who write or email back that they've got 6 or 8 of those on their refrigerator or desk or wherever.
