I am road tripping though Minniapolis, Deluth/Superior and then on to Fargo in Mid September. I am willing ot travel within a few hours of these locations to something sufficiently cool.
Am looking for cool outdoor recommendations. Anything outdoor related is good. Swimming, Biking, Floating, Running Whatever.
I will have a wetsuit and mountain bike with me. Probbaly not going to travel with Kayak, but wiilling to rent one.
Milage not so important.
If anyone in the area wants to meet up for something, I am totally willing.

Turn right at Duluth for some very nice state parks along Minnesota's north shore. The North Country Trail is also up that way.

Boundary Waters, Voyageurs National Park, Superior Hiking Trail, maybe even the Feldtmann Loop on Isle Royale. Lots of possibilities in northern Minnesota.

I am probably late to the party, but Teddy Roosevelt NP in ND looks really cool. Good mountainbiking from what I hear.
I love the Black Hills for cycling (road/gravel).
