Sadly another classic rock person from my generation has just passed away, Eddie Money:

Although a second tier performer, I enjoyed his lively enthusiastic performances with that New York accent here in the SFBA where he made his home. Eddie was a person with a goal of happily enjoying his life. On my MP3 player with 200+ rock tracks, have a couple of his songs. For you in younger generations, there will also be a time in your lives when increasingly well known public people and celebrities of your current generations gradually pass from life into eternal emptiness and each time that leaves a sad empty feeling.
RIP Eddie!

My father-in-law can use the other ticket. He passed away today, too.

My father-in-law can use the other ticket. He passed away today, too. I am sadder to hear that than the subject of this thread (though I have nothing against E.M.). I hope your FIL's end of life was peaceful and fulfilled.

As for Eddie Money, one of the very first 45s I ever bought was "Baby Hold Onto Me." I probably still have it around here somewhere.

We knew he was dying, but we figured we had about a year with him, so this was a bit sudden They just recently moved near us here in Birmingham. He had a lung disease, but it was most likely a heart attack that killed him. Based on my mother-in-law's account of the death, it sounded like he went out peacefully. Knowing he went out this way rather than the way he expected to go, gasping for air, gives us peace.

Nooooooooooooo!
I grew up with his music. Thought it was great until I got older and realized it was crappy pop but I was then too old to care what others thought of him. He was a NYC cop who had dreams and pursued them.
He gave us some memorable lines: “Roseanna’s Daddy had a car she loved to drive...” “Worse things have been done by better men” “In a borrowed ride white with power glue we felt the passions burning heat. With the static glow of the radio, virgin struggled on the seat. Bathed in salty sweat we were soaking wet, as the night turned purple blue. She took my heart and it could happen to you.”
May he RIP.

I pretty much checked out on pop music January 1st 1980, and hardly turned the radio back on until January 1st 1990. Talk about a lost decade...

Rick Ocasek just died as well.
I was just going to mention that. I was pretty into the Cars back in college and still listen to them occasionally.

Hate to see that but he had a good run. It took awhile for the what became the Cars to develop their success. Add that Ric was still active in music, producIng notably the hit band Weezer.
