Howdy folks; I created a recipe for a backpacking burrito. It is made out of dried ingredients. It took me a few tries to get the ratios down, and to make it fit inside of a tortilla, but I am extremely happy with the results! Of course, I shot a YouTube video to show other folks how to make it. Please click here to watch!

I have some comments but don't want to come across too harsh. From watching some of your other videos I like the new intro and this one there was no swearing.

The burrito looks tasty and easy to prepare. I enjoyed the video and made a comment.

Nice video. You do cook in a fussier and heavier way than I care to, but the general idea is good. I’ve given up on taco shells, and I mix my meat-bean-tomato-corn taco filling with rice, then add salsa and call it taco rice. Almost the same, but without the tortilla, just to keep it tidy.

More with chili but with this recipe might be good. I usually only use my pot for water so I would do this as a bag meal as you suggested as a possibility. I stir in a bunch of crushed organic corn chips just before eating it.
I also try to be careful not to spill food and a packed flour tortilla may not cooperate with that goal. Spilled food is lost calories and if gets on me it seems like a invitation for a ursine or other visit during the night.

I make a point of watching my language these days. I am always looking to improve my videos, so I would love to hear your critique. Since I asked for it, it would not be harsh.

First, and in the video you do mention its lack, light is your friend when making videos. The big content issue for me is that the video seems like it is about reconstituting a dried meal and rolling a burrito. Things I know how to do. What I think is your strength is that you evolved a recipe and proportions. I would love to know more about some of the challenges you faced in adjusting for dried ingredients both for taste and portion size. A section in your kitchen might be good then move to the trail to test it out. Maybe this is just my perspective because I want to learn more about being a trail chef.
Then one stupid little thing. the bag the tortillas came in with only as many as you need on the trail might be better than the aluminum foil.

Thanks for the input. the portions size, and recipe was just trial, and error.

Like Ernie, I would throw everything (including the cheese) into a freezer bag and add boiling water, but the recipe looks delicious.
I would add the freshly ground pepper to the bag just before the trip, but HYOH.
