Nice winter scenes! I on the other hand have seen daffodils starting to bloom!

Coolkat, that first photo of yours is great! A winter wonderland, complete with wolf (stand-in). rebeccad, it’s way too early for daffodils!

that first photo of yours is great! A winter wonderland, complete with wolf (stand-in). Thanks! Believe it or not I had someone ask me if that was a wolf. I had to laugh and explain that as cool as claiming a picture of a wolf would be, she is my 14yo Belgian Malinois. She loves winter hikes.

I enjoy seeing the variation in winter themes: GaliWalker 's photo is a blend of feature, w/a multicolored sky softening the starkness of a bare tree, surrounded by soft snow. which not only provides a base contrast but also highlights the tree and the sky - distinct and blended. Coolkat's first photo is a complex blend of lines, tree trunks and twigs softened by puffs of snow, and highlighted by a inquiring dog in distinct outline. His second photo focuses more on the effects of melting ice on berries, the sheer beauty of the ice, contrasted by bare and thorny twigs, each photo complimenting and contrasting the various elements within. Each presents a different facet of winter, which is what I enjoy seeing. I had hoped this year to visit the lighthouses on the Lake Michigan coast, which frequently become encased in ice which melts and refreezes, creating dramatic spikes which stand out against a winter sky. My cousin visited a few years ago, and said that the icicles were higher than they were tall. www.travelandleisure.com/trip-ideas/nature-travel/frozen-lighthouses-lake-michigan?slide=18c6de01-6bf5-4b11-a05b-c98ab43ed0d2#18c6de01-6bf5-4b11-a05b-c98ab43ed0d2The third very dramatic photo shows a Grand Haven, Michigan lighthouse in its winter decor. This is where we typically go to see lighthouses. Notice the size of the people next to the lighthouse. These truly are creations of winter beauty.
