Wanted to bring this book to everyone's attention: Way Out There: Adventures of a Wilderness TrekkerFull disclosure: it is written by a professional friend and colleague of mine, but otherwise I have no connection to the book (no, I don't get a commission if you buy it!). I just found it to be a very engaging read and so wanted to mention it to others. Also, the author goes by JR, which also are my initials, but that's purely a coincidence. The author, JR Harris, is a very interesting guy. He has been going on solo extreme wilderness treks literally for decades. He is one of the few black men ever elected into the prestigious Explorers Club. His book chronicles nine of his adventures across the globe. If you do read it please let me know what you thought of it. (available on Amazon)

I really enjoyed this book. Interesting guy and I enjoyed his honest and forthright portrayal of his adventures. Seemed to be an easy-going unassuming guy who would be fun to sit around a campfire with and listen to his stories.
