From a medical diabetic journal. As mice, and other species, exercise more, they tend to take more time for recovery (meal time followed by more and more lethargy ... www.nytimes.com/2018/04/11/well/move/why-exercise-alone-may-not-be-the-key-to-weight-loss.htmlRecovery is recommended for most forms of exercise and think for humans it's watching a screen with a big plate of nachos, ...or Pizza Supreme (hey it's got veggies) , etc.. Yep, I've used the exact quote "you can't out-exercise a bad diet". Lots of truth in that.

I know for lap swimming we've got to be careful not to consume the buffet table afterwards... After years (like about 13 now) of lap swimming, I seem to have mostly gotten beyond the urge to spend the rest of the day eating and sleeping. Now I just want to spend it sleeping. Seriously, though, I don't seem to have as much trouble with the post-swim hunger. I'd attribute that to swimming after lunch, but I've been on the same schedule for pretty much the whole 13 years. Maybe it's part of an overall slowing of the metabolism, and maybe it's that I'm too fit and the swim isn't enough of a workout any more (I should be doing more laps, but I only swim twice a week and pushing too far beyond a mile causes problems in my shoulders).
