then again, if i get motivated to go backpacking again............ say it a'int so, Joe! yeah.......it's so..... this year has been a slump of a year for me... ive had more weekends where my bag is all packed up, route chosen, and i never get motivated in the morning to get on the road... so......ive only been on 4 trips this year---none since the beginning of august.... between some personal things going on and me being broke from seeing all these concerts----ive not been out much... i had so many expensive trips this year along with a few more before years end, that i cant justify sometimes me getting up and spending a tank of gas to go hiking........ sad...... this will change after the new year... however, i have seen some good music this year...

Four?! ...very disappointed in you, Kevin.
seriously though, I only have two trips for this year... six for the past two years. it must be El Nino or something.
we just moved to a new spot real close to the Harpeth River. so I'm thinkin I probably definitely need to get myself a boat and start doin more lazy river floats... might have to pick your brain on your backcountry boat set up.

yeah, I know. but i have access points literally 2 minutes from my house ...could be a nice way to spend those weekend days when I can't get to the backcountry in East Tenn.
I wish we had more rivers in the area with good backcountry options. Big South Fork seems like a good option but I dunno if I trust my whitewater chops with a loaded boat. there are definitely a lot of good mountain lakes out in your area for that purpose...
yeah, I 'll definitely hit ya up on that ... gonna aim for buying a boat this winter and see if I can find a good deal on craigslist or something.
