Very crowded , must have seen 3 big vans dropping off about 25 teenagers at one point. Sadly, this is why I've stopped going. I use to hike this loop every fall and spring. Just too crowded. I understand why, as it's a beautiful hike.

Glad you had a good time Big Bear...Yes it is crowded on the weekends..but...I guess we should look at it as a good thing that Teenagers are out Hiking rather than sitting on the couch eating Oreos and playing Xbox....Got to get young people outdoors to grow our lobbying power..We sure as heck need it now in the current political environment...

I am 69. About 12 miles a day is nice. Conservative in nature and politics.
I am looking for someone who would be interested in following the NCT in the UP around September/October. Dates are flexible. Or doing the northern section of the LP of the NCT.

I’m a Michigan hiker out of Clinton Township. Lots of hiking background (Grew up in NC and served in the army (infantry)). I have only hit a few trails in Michigan. The manistee loop (several times), Potawatomi and a few sections of the NCT. Anxious to find some like minded individuals to get on the trail with!!
