My last week looked like this:
M: 1.5 hours of Yoga Tu: 1.5 hours of volleball W: run 4 miles Th: Nada F: Nada Sa: Mardi Crawl 10k in 15* while 2" of snow fell. Interesting run. My time sucked, but I finished it! The kicker is that they hold a raffle after each race. I managed to win the second prize which was a t-time at a nearby golf course for 2 people including cart rental. The first words out of my mouth were "are you kidding me?" followed by "What the heck am I going to do with that?!?!" I ended up giving it to my running partner who's husband golfs. lol Su: Walked the dogs 3 miles.

A poor showing last week. Going to the gym at lunchtime or after work wasn't an option since everyone in my department was out with the flu.
M: Evening run got canceled. Legs were tired anyway, so I just rested. Tu: Nada. I made a Spartan spear. W: Shovel 9-12" of heavy snow... first at work then home. They were both workouts, believe me. Th: I watched other people being active (Olympics). F: Nada... watched Olympics. Sa: Downhill ski 1/2 day... I was hoping for glorious powder, but instead it was rain and spring conditions. Built and tried a Hercules Hoist. Farmers walk with sand bags. I did a couple of rope climbs and they were easy. Su: 4-mile hilly run in snow with burpees and military crawls thrown in.

Time to get motivated again. Weather is improving this week.
I got nothing done after Monday, due to snow, hurricane force winds, and sub-zero temps. I managed a 1 mile walk with the dogs on Sunday in 40 mph winds and 35*. The dogs enjoyed it, at least.

I was able to stay active through my vacation: Sa (2/17): Travel... plane then car. Dinner with the folks. No formal exercise but over 10,000 steps for the day. Su: 3.5-mile morning run in Florida. I thought I was going to melt. Chill at folks the remainder of the day. M: My legs were a bit sore from the previous day's run. My legs never get sore from running. Chin-ups. Travel to and board cruise ship. Walk all over the ship. 3.2-mile run on the deck (2.5 laps = 1 mile). Wind and rough seas made it interesting. Tu: Walk around the ship and Nassau, Bahamas. 2-mile deck run. W: Castaway Cay 5k with my daughter. I'm now an international runner! Spend the remainder of the day walking and biking around the island and snorkeling. Saw a huge grouper and swam with a sea turtle for awhile. Th: Day at sea. Walk all over the ship. 3.2-mile deck run. F: Back to shore. Drive to folks. Spend the afternoon swimming in the ocean, plus run 3 miles on the beach. Sa: Spend the day swimming in the ocean, plus run 3 miles on the beach. Su: "Spartan" workout: heavy bucket carry (1/4 mile), sandbag carry (1/4 mile), jumping jacks (80), burpees (20), trail run (1.75 miles), uphill lunges (50), elbow-to-knee planks, plyo box jumps, side planks, squat jumps, steep uphill sprint. Yes, walking around the ship was a workout...

And I bet the Castaway Cay 5k was a hoot! Here's my way-too-long report: The run was actually quite disorganized. Very uncharacteristic of Disney. There were literally 10x as many people as I thought there would be. I was told the run would start at 8:00, and we were to meet in a designated lounge beforehand. I thought the run would start/end at the ship, then we could shower, get beach gear, etc. The official disembarking time for the remainder of the passengers was 8:30... so 10 minute miles would put us back to the ship at that time. It all made perfect sense to me. Well, we met at the lounge. We showed our Disney pass, driver's license, and tickets so we could disembark. Then we sat, and sat, and sat. They said didn't have bibs ready. They also said the start/finish was right next to the family beach area. Thankfully my wife was still in the room and she was able to pack beach gear for my daughter and I. We were supposed to leave as a group, but due to the late time, we were all mixed in with the non-running passengers. No one was really sure of where to go, but it seemed everyone figured it out. There was a mix of hardcore runners and complete novices. There was no breeze in the loop in the interior of the island, and after the first mile, my daughter was starting to overheat. We soon reached a water station at the halfway point though, and she was able to cool off. It was at this point that we saw the hardcore runners returning. The next section was out and back on an airstrip, and although it was in full sun, the breeze made for nice running. Then back on the loop once more and the finish. I kept a 10:00 pace for my daughter. I could tell that she was beat at the end. I was pleased that my breathing wasn't the slightest bit labored at that pace. She must have enjoyed herself though... later in the day she bought a 5k t-shirt. There were people finishing a good half-hour or more behind us. I was proud of those people. Not many would subject themselves to such hardship, especially during a vacation.

Wow.... I'm surprised it was so unorganized. I've heard really good things about the Disney races. That's disappointing.
Glad your daughter did so well. It's difficult conditions when it's warm and there is no breeze. Good for her (and you!).
