I read an article a little while ago about flat earthers. The article came from the direction that they are basically a type of OCD thought process. Just like some people have to open and close a door three times and telling them not to do that has no effect, the same with flat earthers. Not a rational thing but a compulsion. I think I see some of that in this guy. Figuring out that the earth is round is not rocket science. EratosthenesI remember learning the math that Eratosthenes used. I was very impressed. Relatively simple and powerful. He was just slightly over. The math does depend on assuming the Earth is round.

Well, if you have a little ability to put 2 & 2 together, you can see it on any clear day from the bluffs by my house. From the top of the bluffs, look out and see the Farralon Islands. Then climb down to the beach, and note that you can now only see the very tops of said islands. The rest is below the horizon. That only proves that it's a bulging disc. lol Proof is what a person will accept. For instance a person can provide a birth certificate validated by the state of Hawaii that they were born at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu on 8/4/1961 but some idiots will still reject the proof. It's a post-modern landscape out there still. We have regressed as a civilization in that regard. Rumi

video linkThe parachute deployed prematurely in takeoff and became detached as the rocket left the launcher. I'm not sure it would have been big enough in any case, but maybe it was bigger than it appeared.

Wonderhussy is a YouTube channel featuring a woman who travels around the West exploring and posting videos of her adventures. She can be a little animated but has a pretty big following. She talked with Mike Hughes about 10 days before his fateful launch. It appears that his launch rig was damaged when it was hit by a drunk driver at relatively slow speed. He was doing repairs to it when she met up with him in Nevada. I'm starting the video when she starts talking to him.

He had about 15 seconds to contemplate things after the chute cut loose. Sad.
