The video is at the bottom of this post. Since it is not very clear, what follows is the impression I get from inadequate information.
I downloaded the video and placed the bear-spraying part on repeat. It appears to me that the woman shot high and into a side wind, thus sparing the bear of anything more than a faint whiff of the bearspray. The bear's behavior suggests nothing close to a direct hit of spray.
Failing to have used the bearspray effectively the first time, the woman could have walked upwind and lowered her aim to give the bear a good dose of spray. But instead, the woman abandoned the use of bearspray and resorted to repetitive, plaintive whining at the bear (or for the video. It's unclear which.)
At some time in her thought processes, she needed to decide which she wanted to accomplish here: 1) run off the bear and save her kayak, or 2) make a video for Youtube. By attempting to do both, she did not do either very well.

Her voice alone should have been enough to make the bear run for the hills.

The voice was pretty annoying but she's no Sarah Palin. Sounds like she's scolding a disobedient dog.

(after pepper spray) "Get away from that kayak! Come here!" Why? So she could spray it again? I'll bet that the bear knew she was recording it and wanted its 15 minutes of bear fame. And my guess is that Audrey Sutherland wouldn't have whined like that.

Reckon he was out of there and just looking for a sprayskirt and paddle - she should dump the pepper, get a double kayak and make a new pal. .

I think I would rather see my kayak get eaten, than listen to that dame bellow a minute longer...

Good gravy. I agree with James. ;-|
Travis is right, that was a pretty ineffective shot of bear spray. And threatening to spray the bear? Lol... that's less effective than threatening your screaming toddler with what you're "going to do" if they don't stop. If you plan to do anything, shut up already and do it. She might have had a better chance of effectively spraying the bear if she wasn't simultaneously trying to film it with her other hand.

Yeah, fairly accurate parody. Might as well post it below. (Dedicated to Grizzly James. Heh, heh.)

That's a great parody.
Thinking about the recent post on bear defense tactics, I wonder if she'd stop if I shoved my arm down her throat?

Lol at both the original and the parody, although I could not watch all of either version--the voices are just too ear-bleed-inducing.
I'm with Travis--whoTF videos themselves spraying a bear? Put down the phone and handle the situation, for heavens sake.

Crikies that was funny. Thanks for the parody link. They're right too, you gotta see the first one to best appreciate the parody. Even tho I regret seeing the first one, some how it seems almost worth it now.

that's less effective than threatening your screaming toddler with what you're "going to do" if they don't stop. "Just wait until your father gets home young bear!"

Loved the parody. Glad the wind wasn't blowing toward the women in the original. I wonder how Goldilocks would have handled the situation. All that squeaky voice noise reminded me of when I used to coach 7 and 8th grade basketball and have to listen to the cheerleaders, usually 10, with junior high squeaky voices that penetrated above any idiotness the guy players players were up to on the bus rides (I taught in a rural area so the closest road trip was 22 miles each way- a few were 80 miles). Usually had the cheerleaders up front just behind me. Wouldn't trust them at the back with 8th grade boys turned loose. Ha! Then there was the couple of years I coached junior high girls basketball. I really enjoyed all of it, but I'll never forget bus rides and the high pitch. Imagine 10 plus 15 squeaky voices all at once.
