Here's my plan...so far....
I turn 60 on August 1 2018 and I want to complete the entire Tahoe Rim Trail by the end of the 2018 hiking season. It will be a combination of weekends and probably one 5-6 day stretch. I could do it on my own but the shuttling will be a bit of a headache. I'd like to find some folks who would like to participate, either in all or parts, and we could self shuttle. My schedule is flexible at this point, thought I would post here and see if I get any interest.

I'll stay tuned. My wife has a conference in Reno July 6-12 and if I tag along, I'd aim to spend most of the time backpacking.

My wife has a conference in Reno July 6-12 That is a looong conference. It's dominated by workshops taught by instructors that many of the attendees otherwise have little access to, so it's not too much of an ordeal. www.weavespindye.org/convergence-schedule

I had no idea there was a hand weavers guild. Sounds interesting. Now that I'm retired that might be something I could get into.

If I do the TRT again, I'll likely do it when there's still a little snow on the ground. Water and that part is accessible to mountain bikers. Almost all were polite but it felt like jogging with "... on your left.." 40+ times per day. Good luck. It is beautiful...

I am not averse to hiking/camping on some spring snow. Let's see what this winter brings....

Hello, I had my big 60th birthday this past November. 2017 was very busy with moving from my place of 37 years, but I still managed to get in some awesome backpacking trips, namely Patagonia in January, and more local ones in May, June, July, Aug (Stein Valley), and Sept (Grand Tetons), anywhere from 4 days to a week. Hoping 2018 to be much more active.
Have been interested in Tahoe Rim Trail for a while now. When I do go, I would like to hike in one stretch as I'm coming from Vancouver, BC, however, depending on when you decide to do your longer stretch, perhaps we could hike some of it together.

I live near Auburn, CA., only a short drive to the Lake Tahoe area. Put me on your email list. I'm a pretty casual backpacker and retired (I'm 62) so I might be able to do a section or two.

I will be back in Auburn in a few days. Perhaps I could join in on it too. -Don- Reno, NV

Hey DomTom and Phil, I'll keep you in the loop regarding the TRT plans. I did find a couple of hiking buddies from the Bay Area who want to join in as well. Perhaps we could meet up this spring somewhere for a hike, i am not adverse to driving to the foothills.
